You can support the Elinor Ross CDF Freedom School again this summer. Since nutrition, health, and mental health are a focus of Freedom School, we are asking this year for help meeting our nutrition goals.
We plan to be certain the children who attend this year’s program have healthy, fresh snacks daily. The estimated cost for our planned daily snack list is $275/week for six weeks. We also hope to send home daily food packs of easy-to-prepare or no-prep items to those children whose families would benefit from this extra food. That total is estimated at $350/week for six weeks.
We are asking anyone who wants to contribute to this effort to donate local grocery store gift cards (Food Lion, IGA, Kroger) in any amount so that we can purchase these items fresh, as needed, and so that we don’t have to store food on site. Gift cards may be dropped off in TJ Farr Room 100 at Tennessee Tech. As an alternative, donations may be made to the program through the College of Ed’s Freedom School website here.
